Charge RN II – Maternal/Newborn – Full-time

- Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
- Work hours: Full-time, 6:45PM-7:15AM, (3) 12-hour shifts/week, schedule varies including some weekend and holiday coverage
Maternal/Newborn Department highlights:
· Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
- Mother friendly designated, a Texas 10-Step designated, and a Magnet designated facility
· Our team is like a family with a newly renovated Mother/Baby, couplet care unit with 26-beds
· Average between 285-300 deliveries per month
Here’s What You Need:
· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
· BSN – Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred
· RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
· One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting Required
· 2-years’ experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred
· 2-years current Mother/Baby RN experience strongly preferred
· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
· NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days Required
· CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
· demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
· maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
· possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
· have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
What You Will Do:
· The Charge Nurse
- will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
- support and actively participate in shared governance/councils
- committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
- evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
