Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer intern to join our Finance Automation and Analytics team. You will help build and maintain software that automates critical business processes across Tesla’s finance operations. Our platform processes thousands of transactions daily, reducing manual work and enabling finance teams to scale with Tesla’s growth. You will take ownership of automation development — from understanding business requirements with finance domain experts to shipping production solutions that interact with websites, APIs, documents, and internal systems. This role requires a strong and dedicated team player who is comfortable writing code, learning new systems quickly, has acute attention to detail, and executes at a high caliber.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new automations in C# that process transactions and eliminate manual finance workflows
- Integrate workflows with internal and external services via RESTful APIs to orchestrate multi-system processes
- Build OCR processes to extract and validate data from PDFs, images, and scanned forms
- Build web automation workflows with Selenium to navigate external websites, submit forms, and download documents
- Collaborate with finance domain experts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Debug and improve existing automations to maintain reliability as upstream systems, APIs, and business processes evolve.
What You’ll Bring
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Proficiency in C# or a similar object-oriented language (Java, Python); willingness to work primarily in C#
- Experience developing and/or consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with web automation (Selenium or equivalent)
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Interest in document processing, OCR, or unstructured data extraction
- Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity
- Excellent problem-framing, problem solving, and communication skills; able to partner with non-technical stakeholders.
