About the role
What to Expect
We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate and organized individual to join Dispatch, which is part of the Technical Operations Team and responsible for providing 24/7 support for the Tesla AI Team. This role has a significant impact on reaching our goal of Full Self-Driving by assisting Data Collection & Development teams by coordinating tests (including dev tests and A/B comparisons), compiling & communicating results, managing software rollouts to the global test vehicle fleet, troubleshooting issues and tracking them for resolution.
What You’ll Do
- Be part of the on-call schedule that guarantees 24/7 coverage for the test team and rapidly respond to incidents & emergencies, including structured shift handoffs across regions and time zones
- Assist in resolving issues related to vehicles, software installs/downloads, data upload, tooling outages, facilities and logistics or escalate to other stakeholders as needed
- Intake, triage and coordinate test requests from development team(s) for data collection, dev tests, and A/B comparisons, ensuring high data quality, rapid turnaround times and excellent reporting
- Monitor, oversee, and dispatch test operators to execute test requests across regions and time zones; track completion and operator feedback through to close
- Closely collaborate with the rest of the software organization to coordinate vehicle-level validation for software and hardware, including fleet software rollouts and allocation changes by platform, vehicle type, and region
- Coordinate & execute product demonstrations for internal & external stakeholders
- Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and drive improvements with a metrics & data-driven approach
- Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive required tooling requests to implementation or create automations yourself (scripts, dashboards, and workflow improvements)
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle testing and validation, technical/fleet operations, or equivalent industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or equivalent demonstrated skills, or equivalent experience
- Energetic about taking on hard problems and ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment
- Excellent work ethic, communication, attention to detail and collaboration skills
- Firefighter mentality, proactively identify issues and drive them effectively to resolution
- Experience with complex data analysis, visualization and presentation for data driven decisions
- Experience with Python, Grafana, and version control systems (Git) preferred
