BSDO Program Performance Lead

The Program Performance Lead (PPL) will manage a team of engineers to deliver key program attributes for BSDO for the programs for which he/she is assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set and own all BSDO targets

  • Work transversally across Vehicle Engineering to plan, coordinate and execute validation and development activities.

  • Define resource needs – including headcount and physical assets (vehicles, parts, etc.) – for the project team to include in the program budget

  • Integrate all work performed by the BSDO team

  • Support Advanced Program development by identifying and defining risks and critical design areas based on lessons learned and quality metrics.

  • Manage milestone deliverables for each of the BSDO attribute areas

Buzz, Squeak & Rattle

  • Sealing

  • Corrosion

  • Quality In-Use

  • Own the BSDO scorecard

  • Point contact for BSDO with VSM, Advanced, Platform, and Tophat Teams

  • Represent organization at governance updates

  • Work with CPG, ARDC, CTC RTS and DAQ labs for development and execution of BSDO validation plans

  • Ensure validation of customer functional objectives related to BSDO/QIU

  • Ensure the voice of the customer is met through competitive vehicle benchmarking and quality reviews.

  • Summarize lessons learned before the end of the project and support the core team in updating performance standards and processes.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product/powertrain development

  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems and engineering development cycles

  • Experience leading teams of diverse backgrounds

  • Experience in product development dealing with multiple foreign markets

  • Able to motivate and lead people that do not report directly to you

  • Excellent leadership communications / people skills

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Comfort with both short- and long-term project management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or MBA

  • 5+ years of experience directly in Durability, NVH, Safety, BSR or other related vehicle attribute fields

  • Knowledge of virtual simulation tools

  • Vehicle testing knowledge, Durability test schedules, RTS testing, Data Acquisition methods and tools.

  • Ability to productively manage change
