About the role
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a skilled JavaEE Software Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in building production-grade financial systems. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with modern CICD, Java, Public Cloud, Scrum capabilities, and can drive teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable products that create measurable business impact.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end design and delivery of enterprise application solutions—from problem framing and model selection to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. You will lead & work with the team on architecture and implementation choices, establish best practices, and ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, privacy, and compliance requirements while aligning with business strategy.
What you will be responsible for

Lead end-to-end development of JavaEE applications and services from prototyping to production, aligned to clear product outcomes and KPIs.

Partner with BA and QA teams to translate business problems into technology solution approaches (build vs buy, model choice, data needs, evaluation strategy) and executable delivery plans.

Design and implement the technology solution and automate unit testing for quality.

Promote automation and engineering excellence (CI/CD with ML, automated evaluation, red-teaming, monitoring/alerting, and cost/performance optimization) to improve quality and velocity.

Communicate the software solutions with different stakeholders.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

5+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant leadership experience delivering financial systems in production at scale.

Strong software engineering fundamentals (distributed systems, APIs, data structures), including strong code quality practices in Java.

Proven experience with public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Solid experience with data platforms and pipelines (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Spark).

Deep understanding of modern engineering practices and MLOps (CI/CD, testing, experiment tracking, model/version management, monitoring, incident management).

Experience working in global or distributed teams across different regions and time zones.

Strong communication skills in English and Chinese, including the ability to present complex engineering topics and decisions to stakeholders.
