Pratt & Whitney, a Raytheon Technologies Company, is looking for a lead developer to join our Digital Technology (DT) Digital Manufacturing Applications team. This individual will be involved in the delivery of developing, enhancing, and implementing software solutions within Pratt & Whitney’s enterprise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions, as well as integrations with other enterprise products for our internal Operations customers. This role will lead the development of back-end and web-based solutions, troubleshooting of problems related to PW’s MES, resolving systems integration and compatibility issues, and supporting the application life cycle Center of Excellence.
The position is hybrid and due to customer locations in different time zones, customer meetings can occur outside normal business work hours.

The Digital Manufacturing team at Pratt and Whitney is looking for a highly motivated, technical lead who will be excited in delivering digital solutions within our MES & MOM enterprise platform as it relates to supporting our manufacturing sites, engine centers, and aftermarket operations worldwide. Specific focus includes the development of enhancements to our MES systems and troubleshooting production and preproduction system changes. Current strategic activities include engaging with long-term roadmaps for MES, deploying next-gen solutions, new site implementations, and integrating with new technologies for IIOT and Industry 4.0.
What You will do :
- Lead and contribute to the design, development, customization, and integration of Solumina MES solutions.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions using Java, Springboot or similar backend technologies.
- Develop Solumina workflows, forms, UI customizations, and interfaces using Solumina’s development framework and tools.
- Implement integrations with ERP, PLM, and shop floor systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Teamcenter, IoT devices) via APIs & web services.
- Guide and support junior developers, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within Solumina applications and integrations.
- Actively contribute in project planning, estimations, sprint reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper documentation of system design, code, and configurations of self and of team.
- Production and end user support, where applicable
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously with regular reporting in a gated process .
- Navigating APIs and ability to familiarize quickly with application SDK.
Educational Requirement / Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of experience in software development or advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong backend development experience (Java, Springboot, Maven, C#, Node.JS) including SQL databases (SQL server/Oracle/Azure SQL).
- Proficiency in frontend technologies (React/Angular/Vue).
- Hands-on familiarity with version control tools (Git/SVN)
- Strong knowledge of APIs (REST/SOAP), web services, workflow design, and configuration.
- Experience integrating MES with ERP or PLM systems.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, including configuration, deployment, and orchestration using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Open Shift.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes in aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries.
- Ability to work independently or lead small teams in an agile development environment with experience on project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years software development experience in Solumina MES (preferably G7 or newer versions incl. i series) with understanding on Solumina upgrades and version migrations.
- Strong knowledge of Solumina data models, APIs, workflow design, and configuration.
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, XML, SQL, and scripting tools used in Solumina environments.
- Hands-on familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins).
- Understanding of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing principles.
