Chinese Merchant Team Lead - Business Development

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the overall performance of a business segment in Shopee
• Developing growth strategies, involving planning, negotiation, and execution of initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Collaborating with internal teams to define, enhance, and scale solutions
• Providing leadership and guidance to the team for efficient execution of daily tasks and skill development for advancement
• Continuously maintain a strong relationship with brands and key sellers
• Work closely with the marketing team to drive usage and awareness for brands/sellers

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in any field, with work experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, business development, and e-commerce is a plus
• Experienced in a management role - passionate about coaching, mentoring and team management
• Highly analytical and able to generate meaningful and actionable analysis; Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Possess strong business acumen and commercial savviness
• Strong stakeholder management skills to manage both the Regional team and the local team
• Action-driven attitude to work in a fast-moving environment to launch initiatives, own P&L of these sellers
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage Chinese sellers in Mandarin
• Deep understanding of the Chinese e-commerce market and seller ecosystem
