ShopeeFood, Business Development (SMB) - Team Lead

As a Business Development Team Lead, you will play a key role in expanding Shopee Food’s merchant ecosystem. You will lead and develop a team of field sales executives, drive merchant acquisition and growth strategies, and build strong partnerships with local F&B businesses. This role requires a hands-on leader who understands the local market landscape and is passionate about building high-performing teams while delivering impactful business results.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of field sales BDs by providing coaching, developing strategies, and monitoring performance to achieve team KPIs and sales targets.
• Identify business opportunities in your area to drive merchant growth.
• Collaborate with business leads and cross-functional teams to support Shopee Food’s business objectives.
• Support the development of win-win solutions for partners and Shopee Food based on business needs.
• Drive localized business growth through competitor analysis, sales planning, and merchant engagement strategies.
• Proactively manage relationships with merchants to ensure satisfaction and growth within your designated area.
• Ensure the team meets operational and strategic goals while maintaining a focus on merchant success.

Requirements

• Based in Johor/ Kota Kinabalu/ Kuching with knowledge of the local market landscape.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with prior team lead experience required (F&B, FMCG, or E-commerce preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field (Business, Commerce, or Marketing preferred).
• Proactive and independent, with the ability to manage team performance and drive targets.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills; effective in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with e-commerce, food delivery, and merchant partnerships.
• Innovative problem-solver with practical business acumen and analytical ability.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Bahasa Melayu, Chinese language or other dialects will be an advantage
• Flexible to work on-ground during peak periods or as business needs require
