Job Description:

As a Technical Sales Coop as part of Perception team at OTTO by Rockwell Automation, you will gain exposure to advanced robotics systems and learn how to communicate complex technical concepts in accessible terms for a broad range of customers across industries. Your day-to-day work will involve interacting with customers, learning our product portfolio, supporting the sales cycle, and helping ensure our customers have the information and experience they need to be successful.

You will collaborate closely with experienced technical sales professionals who will mentor you in communicating clearly, building strong customer relationships, and helping customers choose the solutions that best meet their goals. You will work hybrid, and you will be expected to be in the Waterloo office at least twice per week.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming customer inquiries via email, phone, and online channels

  • Assist with customer correspondence, outreach campaigns, and follow-ups

  • Support the processing of customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Provide customers with product information, pricing, and availability

  • Learn to identify and resolve customer issues, escalating complex challenges to senior team members when necessary

  • Assist in maintaining and updating customer records in the internal databases

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and marketing to ensure customers receive accurate and timely information.

  • Participate in broader sales operations projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics engineering; computer science, business, technical majors or similar

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer-focused mindset

  • Passion for learning advanced new technologies, especially robotics and automation

  • Ability to understand and translate technical topics into layman’s terms

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage deadlines

  • Familiarity with data management tools (Excel, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms)

  • Experience with or interest in robotics, automation, or industrial technology

  • Experience working in customer-facing or service-oriented environments

  • Basic analytical skills and comfort working with structured data

  • Technical curiosity and eagerness to dive into complex systems

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.

For this role, the Compensation is from $20/hour - $32/hour. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
