Advanced Engineering & Innovation

Objective of Job:

• Identify, monitor and assess emerging technologies, market trends and innovation opportunities across automotive and adjacent industries, with focus on AI, Smart Cockpit, Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), Digital Experience and Future Mobility.
• Lead technology evaluation, feasibility assessment, and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) validation activities to assess technical maturity, customer value, and strategic relevance for Mercedes-Benz, steering informed decisions from concept exploration to product integration.
• Build and maintain relationships with startups, technology companies, universities and research institutes, and identify potential collaboration opportunities within China's innovation ecosystem.
• Prepare technology insights, innovation recommendations and executive briefings to support future products, technology and customer experience development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering or related disciplines; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Advanced Engineering, Innovation Management, Technology Strategy, Emerging Technology Research, or Product Innovation, with a strong preference for candidates possessing a software engineering background.
• Strong understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, Smart Cockpit, SDV, Connectivity and Digital Experience.
• Experience in technology scouting, technology evaluation, supplier and technology partner relationship management, PoC validation and ecosystem collaboration is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
