Overview:

The Director, Account Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Master Card relationship with assigned accounts. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, commercially pragmatic business developer who possesses strong relationship management and influencing skills. The Director will collaborate closely with both customers and Master Card cross-functional teams to create and implement impactful payment programs that drive segment penetration and maximize revenues for Master Card and its banking partners. Candidates should have a strong execution focus and solid experience in the financial or technology industry, ideally gained through business development or product management roles. The role also requires comfort in working with technology and the ability to operate across various disciplines and functions.

Major Accountabilities
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to manage all aspects of the relationship with assigned accounts, ensuring profitability and strategic alignment across countries and geographies. The Director will be responsible for all account management and business development activities for designated customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain primary responsibility for managing the relationship and profitability of assigned customers across different countries and geographies.
  • Oversee all account management and business development activities for assigned customers.
  • Design and execute strategic and tactical plans to enhance customer and Master Card profitability.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key influencers at the customer level and within Master Card support teams.
  • Collaborate with Master Card cross-functional teams to identify new segment and product opportunities, developing bespoke propositions to maximize segment penetration.
  • Leverage Master Card brand sponsorship properties, products, and services to deliver exceptional customer value.
  • Handle all administrative and operational matters for the target customer set.
  • Manage and develop new and existing products, programs, and services as required.
  • Conduct regular customer performance review meetings and occasional business workshops to maintain growth momentum and drive new opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and opportunity assessments on new concepts and ideas, evaluating the viability of new products in support of market strategy.
  • Provide recommendations for market strategy, profit planning, expense management, and budgeting.

Experience:

  • 12-15 years of experience in business development, account management, product management, or finance.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven, with a proven track record in driving successful account strategies and experience working in fintech companies.
  • Ability to integrate knowledge across disciplines such as sales, product, marketing, finance, operations, and risk.
  • Excellent financial acumen with working knowledge of data analysis tools and specialized data sources
  • Competence in handling complex deals and understanding the revenue, cost, and financial impact of business opportunities.
  • An outstanding individual contributor with the ambition and willingness to take on the challenge of becoming a team lead
