Lemonade is rebuilding the foundation of how insurance products are created. Lo Co (Low Code) is our next-generation tech stack that replaces handwritten code with configuration - enabling us to launch new insurance products in days, not years.

You'll spend most of your time deep in systems design, working alongside engineers to make hard calls about how configuration schemas are structured, where the boundary between config and code should live, and what tradeoffs the platform should make to serve product teams building on top of it. You'll carry the kind of discretion that today sits with senior engineers - and you'll be expected to earn it.

We believe three things matter for every role at Lemonade: drive to push through challenges, efficiency that keeps standards high while moving fast, and adaptability that lets you pivot with data and AI insights. These aren't buzzwords, they're how we actually work.

Our AI-first approach isn't just a tagline either. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.

IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL:

  • Experience building platform products that serve multiple internal teams and external users

  • Own the API contract strategy across multiple domains - creating a unified layer that simplifies onboarding for channel teams

  • Drive cross-team alignment on complex technical decisions, turning competing priorities into executable roadmaps

  • Shape developer experience by working hands-on with Swagger docs, sequence diagrams, and API design patterns

  • Act as translation layer between platform engineers and leadership, communicating technical complexity in business terms

  • Lead the adoption strategy of our new modular, scalable architecture.

  • Champion the "Single Configuration For All Stages" vision by designing systems that work seamlessly across our entire insurance lifecycle

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 5–10 years of product management experience, specifically in platform or API-led products.

  • Deep technical fluency with API design, system architecture, and developer tooling (Swagger, sequence diagrams)

  • Cross-team leadership experience - proven ability to align stakeholders and execute on complex, multi-team initiatives

  • A computer science degree - a big advantage

  • Substantial experience as a developer - a big advantage

  • Overseeing complex adoption / integration efforts - a big plus

  • Data analysis skills and hands-on experience managing and maintaining API integrations

  • Ready to work in an office environment most days of the week

  • Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI - a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture
