About the role
Position Summary
The Air Treatment Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air treatment equipment—including compressed air dryers, filtration systems, purification units, and monitoring/testing devices—at customer sites across Japan. This role ensures equipment reliability, optimal performance, and high customer satisfaction while supporting the broader sales and service organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission air treatment systems (filters, dryers, purification units) according to manufacturer procedures and safety standards.
- Conduct start-up testing, calibration, and system verification.
- Provide on-site training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
B. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including filter replacements, system cleaning, leak checks, and performance inspections.
- Diagnose system issues and perform corrective repairs with minimal downtime.
- Document all maintenance activities and service findings in service reports.
C. Testing & Diagnostics
- Conduct air quality testing (e.g., particle counts, oil content, dew point, ISO/JIS compliance checks).
- Operate and maintain test instruments and data loggers.
- Provide accurate test results and technical recommendations to customers and internal teams.
D. Technical Support & Customer Service
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide on-site/remote troubleshooting guidance.
- Work closely with sales teams to support technical evaluations, equipment audits, and upgrade proposals.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards.
E. Parts, Tools & Documentation Management
- Ensure proper handling of spare parts, tools, and service inventory.
- Maintain accurate service records, test results, field reports, and CRM updates.
- Follow all safety, compliance, and quality protocols.
F. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Provide feedback to engineering and product management regarding product performance, failure trends, and customer needs.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies, tools, and procedures.
- Support internal projects, field trials, and product demonstrations as needed.
Qualifications Required
- Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields.
- 2+ years of service experience in industrial equipment, compressed air, HVAC, filtration, or similar fields.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Native-level Japanese; basic English preferred for manuals, training, and internal communication.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within Japan.
