- OVERVIEW The Associate Site Safety Leader will be responsible for the site safety programs essential to protecting the employees in Covington, GA. The role will focus on driving a safety-first culture through engagement on the floor with the Covington team. This role will allow the individual to work closely with the production teams to improve process rigor around company programs, and compliance to state and federal laws and regulations. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure compliance relating to all state and federal regulations established for plant employees and equipment
- Make sure plant standards follow company HSE standards and update as necessary
- Oversee and lead required safety inspections, PM’s etc. within our comprehensive HSE database (GSTEMS)
- Actively participate in site safety committees
- Manage site work comp program
- Participates in developing and leading sites safety training and maintaining training records
- Leads updating and conducting new employee safety orientation
- Provides expertise on OSHA, accident investigation, accident root cause analysis and other compliance initiatives to ensure the facility meets all corporate and regulatory requirements
- Actively leads behavior-based safety efforts
- Manages PPE program across the site
- Supports all phases of capital related projects from a safety perspective to ensure all standards are met
- Manage chemical handling and associated state and federal reporting requirements
- Manage site MSDS program
- Works effectively with all levels of the organization to promote strong safety core values
- Develop, mentor and guide plant safety culture
- Spend time on the floor working on safety improvements and development a safety-first culture MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing operations and health and safety regulations
- Proficient in MS Office and computer software
- Demonstrated ability to lead with safety first
- Ability to connect with the team across all levels
