An Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Operator performs specific preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical repair, and other tasks and techniques to keep refrigeration systems in operational conditions to meet production, refrigeration, storage, and shipping needs. Sign On Bonus of $3000 (pre-tax) Payable after 90 days Pro-rated repayment is required if you leave within 1 year of employment Wage Rate: $29.75 per hour with annual increases up to $35.00 per hour Union position with set annual increases and union dues Benefits: Start date of hire! Medical, Dental, Vision 401k with match Annual Incentive Program Paid Vacation and Holidays Schedules: CREW L – NIGHT SHIFT 6:00PM – 6:00AM: 5 on, 3 off, 2 on, 5 off, 4 on, 2 off, 3 on, 4 off CREW M – NIGHT SHIFT 6:00PM – 6:00AM: 5 on, 3 off, 2 on, 5 off, 4 on, 2 off, 3 on, 4 off In this role, you will: Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment Provide technical support and plant leadership for refrigeration equipment troubleshooting and modification Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Team Leader, peers, team members, other leaders and managers, and corporate partners. Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule Perform corrective maintenance work orders Perform daily rounds/checks of ammonia system Troubleshoot, maintain and repair manufacturing and refrigeration equipment or systems Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives in order to increase platform performance Assist with training new employees as needed Attend meetings and trainings as required Resolves problems and conflicts in an acceptable manner that shows respect for the other person(s). Learn, follow, and be engaged in Process Safety Management (PSM) Perform additional related tasks as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship High School Diploma or GED Two years refrigeration technician experience or equivalent education preferred. Possess minimum two years electrical and mechanical maintenance experience Possess minimum two years of experience with steam boilers Working knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration Experience in computer skills, Maximo, Microsoft Office Effective written and oral communication skills Must be able to lift, move, push, pull 50 lbs on a regular basis Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends, daily overtime or overtime outside of your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week) Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves when required Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment Ability to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications: Priority will be given to those possessing a current Haz Mat Technician Level Emergency Response Certificate and/or CIRO or CARO Certification through RETA Technical degree in industrial maintenance or related field Continuing education in maintenance/technical skills Computer Maintenance Management System experience Demonstrated leadership ability COMPANY OVERVIEW
