The AI Enablement organization is seeking an Engineer IV to help establish and scale the engineering capabilities that support responsible, reliable, and measurable AI adoption across the firm. This role will focus on AI Observability, Testing, Evaluation, Validation & Verification (TEVV), Evaluation-Driven Development (EDD), and emerging agentic AI capabilities.

As a senior technical contributor, you will partner closely with engineers, architects, product leaders, AI practitioners, and risk partners to design and implement the frameworks, tooling, integrations, telemetry, and automation needed to support AI systems throughout their lifecycle.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape foundational AI engineering capabilities that will influence how AI solutions are designed, evaluated, deployed, monitored, and governed across the enterprise.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and implement enterprise capabilities supporting AI observability, evaluation, testing, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Build reusable evaluation frameworks, test harnesses, automation pipelines, and quality measurement capabilities that improve confidence in AI system performance.
• Develop telemetry, tracing, monitoring, and evidence-generation solutions that provide transparency into AI system behavior and production performance.
• Partner with product, engineering, architecture, governance, and risk teams to integrate evaluation and observability capabilities into the AI development lifecycle.
• Support implementation of Testing, Evaluation, Validation & Verification (TEVV) and Evaluation-Driven Development (EDD) practices across AI initiatives.
• Design and implement solutions supporting agentic AI systems, orchestration frameworks, and autonomous workflow capabilities.
• Research and evaluate emerging AI engineering tools, frameworks, and best practices and recommend opportunities for adoption.
• Lead technical problem solving on complex, enterprise-scale initiatives and participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to the development of technical capabilities across the organization.
• Influence technical direction and engineering standards across multiple teams and business areas.

Current Internal home-based associates please note: Even as a campus-based posted role you are eligible to apply and, if selected, you may retain your home-based status. However, future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work and some roles may carry a preference for campus-based presence.

What Experience You Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications or Engineering preferred or related work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience directly related to technical area of expertise.
• Considered a subject matter expert in an I.S. discipline (business solutions, systems development, infrastructure area, planning, security) and have experience across multiple platforms in an area or multiple technologies in a layer (network, computing, operating systems, data, application infrastructure, appliances, business solutions, security, systems management).
• Demonstrates the ability to provide strategic direction and technical leadership to align objectives with the overall Firm strategy.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships across departments, business areas, and vendors.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• The capacity to quickly understand a broad range of emerging technologies and the ability to apply and exploit target technology to support firm objectives.

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
