Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials), with 10+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing or technology development
  • Proven track record of leading new manufacturing technologies from concept through prototype to early-stage production
  • Deep expertise in at least one advanced manufacturing domain (e.g., materials processing, additive manufacturing, coating technologies, automation)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technology evaluation and strategy in ambiguous, early-stage environments
  • Experience influencing cross-functional and senior stakeholders with clear, data-driven technical insights
  • Strong experience collaborating with external partners (suppliers, startups, research institutions) to co-develop new capabiliti

Desirable Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in manufacturing, materials, or related discipline
  • Recognized expertise (e.g., patents, publications, or industry leadership) in a manufacturing domain
  • Experience building or managing technology incubation pipelines or portfolios
  • Demonstrated success shaping long-term technology roadmaps or strategy
  • Experience scaling processes from prototype to pilot/early production

As a Manufacturing Development Engineer focused on new technology investigation, you will play a critical role in discovering, evaluating, and advancing next-generation manufacturing processes.

You will:

  • Lead deep technical investigations into emerging and disruptive manufacturing technologies
  • Identify, evaluate, and prototype new processes with the potential to transform product design and production
  • Translate early-stage concepts into practical demonstrations and scalable solutions
  • Partner with suppliers, research institutions, and industry leaders to assess external capabilities and accelerate innovation
  • Develop insights and recommendations that shape technology strategy and long-term roadmaps
  • Collaborate across product engineering, design, and marketing to align new manufacturing capabilities with customer needs
