Your opportunity
At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together. We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
Schwab Advisor Services, a division of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., is the leading provider of custody, trading, technology, and operational support to registered independent advisory firms (RIAs). In addition to custody services, Schwab Advisor Services provides practice management and consultative support to help independent advisors start, build, and grow their businesses.
For more than 30 years, the Business Consulting & Education (BCE) team has shaped the leading edge of practice management for advisors. We've helped define how advisory firms grow, operate, and compete-and as AI rapidly reshapes the industry, we continue to lead. Today, that means helping advisors rethink how they work, how they serve clients, and how they build enduring, differentiated businesses in an AI-enabled future.
The BCE team creates and delivers industry-leading consulting, benchmarking, thought leadership, and education programs that help advisors turn insight into action. Our portfolio includes the RIA Benchmarking Study, immersive multiweek consulting programs, the Schwab Executive Leadership Program, and more.
Those solutions are designed and built by a dedicated program team-responsible for developing frameworks, content, thought leadership, and scalable experiences-and delivered by a nationwide team of experienced consultants who work directly with advisory firms. Together, these teams help advisors understand their challenges, identify opportunities, and apply practical solutions within their firms.
This role sits at the intersection of those two worlds: shaping advanced AI-enabled practice management consulting while also engaging deeply in how those solutions show up for RIAs in now and into the future.
As Senior Manager, AI Advanced Solutions & Applied Deployment, you will play a pivotal role, empowering RIA firms to continuously transform how they grow, serve clients, and advance their businesses by leveraging sophisticated AI solutions. Successful candidates will be comfortable moving between content development and hands-on, consultative tactical work with advisors. They'll work collaboratively across the organization and RIA firms, guiding efforts from planning through implementation and activation. And they'll be a passionate pioneer and deep subject matter expert in all things AI, primed to identify and translate advanced leading edge AI applications, strategies and tactics into practical, advisor-ready solutions.
BCE team members thrive on building connections, engaging with advisors, and delivering innovative solutions within a collaborative setting. They are driven by curiosity, a love of learning, and a desire to use their strengths to achieve significant outcomes. The ideal candidate demonstrates adaptability within a dynamic, iterative workplace, values constructive feedback exchange, maintains a positive approach to professional collaboration, skillfully listens to and supports advisors' needs, and is able to collaborate with and influence across multiple levels.
More specifically, the role encompasses a range of the following responsibilities and focus areas:
- Define and drive the real-world application of AI tools and complex solutions, ensuring that strategies and tactics are actionable, impactful, and directly support advisors and clients in their daily operations.
- Engage directly with clients on complex generative and agentic AI strategies, including deep discovery, solution design, and implementation considerations.
- Evaluate, curate, and operationalize emerging AI capabilities, determining which strategies, tools, and tactics are viable for advisors and structuring them into repeatable, compliant, firm-ready solutions.
- Help guide advisor-facing AI deployments, guiding firms from initial pilot phases through long-term integration while tailoring approaches to align with firm size, maturity, and operational structures.
- Design and evolve AI strategy programs that help RIA firms modernize growth, client service, and operational models over time.
- Develop advisor-ready content and frameworks-including creation of tools and resources-that make AI understandable and actionable.
- Continuously scan the rapidly evolving AI landscape to anticipate what's next and proactively translate innovation into differentiated advisor value.
- Serve as a trusted deep AI subject matter expert, advising internal teams and advisors on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in applied AI.
What you have Required qualifications:
- BA or BS Degree
- 7-10+ years of experience within the financial services industry, including direct day-to-day engagement with advisors in RIA firms, broker-dealers, and/or related businesses.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and optimizing complex AI solutions, applications, and tactics to address real-world business challenges and drive measurable outcomes.
- Experience with and knowledge of common RIA firm business needs and challenges spanning Business Management, Technology, and Operations.
- Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to think creatively about innovative business and technology solutions.
- Hands-on experience and demonstrated expertise in AI concepts and architectures, including large language models (LLMs), system prompts, agentic AI, generative AI, and related technologies.
- Strong skills in content creation, both written and verbal communication. Able to identify audience needs and develop high-impact, action-oriented tools and resources that address those needs.
- Excellent communication skills that include the ability to translate complex technical concepts into relatable, specific and actionable plans tailored for the audience.
- Exceptional consultative skills with the ability to listen, assess issues, analyze options, solve problems, influence outcomes, and develop win/win solutions.
- Innovation-driven curiosity and demonstrated experience staying on top of trends in AI and the industry, and the ability to identify and articulate a POV on trends to both internal and external audiences.
- Skilled at leading and collaborating with others. Able to explain complicated ideas simply to anyone and make thoughtful decisions and apply sound judgment balancing innovation with impact, effort, risk, and reward.
- Very strong project management skills and high degree of detail orientation
- Intellectual curiosity, humility, and a growth mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or MA in Computer Science or other field related to AI
- Experience building complex agentic workflows using mainstream AI platforms and tools.
- Experience working directly with RIA firm leaders in a consultative capacity spanning business management, technology, and/or operations.
- Strong business influence and decision driving skills.
- Proven credibility with peers and senior stakeholders
