About the role

💼 Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join Bosch's Research and Development team. As a part of our global research unit, our Singapore team’s focus is on the domain of sustainability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to explore the usage of AI and advanced technologies in the field of Sustainability and Circular Economy. As a Research Scientist, you will collaborate with the research team, business units and external partners to develop cutting-edge technologies and commercialize innovative solutions.

🎯 What you will do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Spearhead AI-driven software innovations in Circular Economy and Sustainability, partnering with business units to drive projects from concept to commercialization.
  • Lead end-to-end ideation process, developing robust business models and pitching them to internal and external funds to secure funding.
  • Strengthen the research pipeline through systematic technology scouting, facilitating innovation workshops, and translating ideas into patents and invention disclosures.
  • Co-create with business units to define market needs and technical requirements through customer discovery, translating insights into actionable research proposals.
  • Support the team to build a robust external innovation network by identifying, vetting, and establishing research collaborations with leading universities and institutions.
  • Ensure project success and stakeholder alignment by conducting quarterly portfolio reviews and managing project governance.

👤 What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)

  • At least Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical, E&E, AI or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience as an R&D engineer or academic staff.
  • High awareness of the latest trends and technologies in Circular Economy & Sustainability (related to Product Design, Manufacturing Process, LCA/LCC, Regulations/Homologation etc.)
  • Proven hands-on experience on AI or software projects (e.g., AI Agent, LLM/VLM, Novel View Synthesis, Knowledge Graph, Robotics, and/or other advanced software topics)
  • Strong ability to conduct and translate research efforts into functional prototypes and demonstrate them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Passion for innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team, possess a good working attitude, and adapt to a dynamic environment.

  • Ph.D. degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical, E&E, AI or related field.
  • Experience in successfully delivering research activities from project planning to project closing in an R&D environment.
  • Entrepreneurial, (start-up), co-creation and product/concept development experience is highly appreciated.
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills in other related research domains
