Starting date 5th October 2026 until 1st October.
We are looking for recent graduates from different disciplines interested in developing their professional career in the aeronautical sector. The current context demands different ways of looking, thinking and relating.
The selection process will be during April 2026 until July 2026.What does this internship consists in?
Together with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed an exclusive program (Discover) designed for those interested in the best training in new areas of knowledge essential to be able to develop as professionals of the future.
You will have the opportunity to study a Master, organized in three training blocks, that will allow you to Discover the skills most in demand today. It will be combined with an 11 month internship at Airbus in an area related to your degree, where you can learn and complete your academic background.
The start of the internship will be in early October 2026, and will last 11 months (August disabled for all purposes). It is a full-time experience (40h/week), in which you will receive an attractive study grant.
Internship Job Description:
1. Tasks to be carried out by the student
- State-of-the-art research: Conduct periodic analysis and benchmarking of emerging AI tools and libraries relevant to mission planning.
- Predictive modeling: Design and develop AI models for the identification and classification of anomalous maritime behaviors and threats.
- xAI implementation: Apply Explainable AI (xAI) techniques to provide transparency to black-box predictive models.
- Synthetic data generation: Research and implement algorithms to generate synthetic datasets for training and validating AI models.
- Software integration: Integrate developed AI solutions into existing mission system software architectures.
- Technical documentation: Design and implementation.
2. Knowledge to be acquired by the student
- Mission Systems Domain: Deep understanding of the functional and technical environment of Airbus Mission Planners.
- Advanced AI Architectures: Practical experience in applying Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning to real-world defense scenarios.
- Anomaly Detection: Specialized knowledge in identifying patterns and outliers in maritime data.
- Explainable AI (xAI): Mastery of techniques to interpret and validate complex AI models.
- Industrial Software Engineering: Learning professional standards for integrating research-based solutions into production-ready software.
3. Within which projects or areas the internship will be carried out
- The internship will be hosted within the Mission Systems department at Airbus, specifically integrated into the Mission Planner Development team. The student will contribute to R&D initiatives focused on enhancing the decision-making capabilities of maritime surveillance and mission management systems through next-generation technologies.
4. Specify the tools to be used
- Programming & Frameworks: Python, Keras, Tensor Flow, Py Torch, and Scikit-learn.
- AI Techniques: Supervised/Unsupervised learning, Anomaly detection algorithms, and Synthetic data generators.
- Development Environment: Software engineering tools for version control (Git) and integration within mission system architectures.
- Methodology: Black-box modeling and xAI (Explainable AI) frameworks.

- Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Level B2 English.
- General knowledge in Machine Learning and AI Engineering.
