Elasticsearch Monitoring Engineer – Level 3 (L3)Role Overview

Elasticsearch Monitoring L3 Engineer is a subject matter expert responsible for architecture‑level ownership, advanced troubleshooting, and optimization of Elastic Observability platforms. The role drives proactive, predictive monitoring, platform scalability, and reliability across enterprise, cloud, and containerized environments using AIOps and ML capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Own L3 support and technical governance for Elasticsearch and Elastic Observability platforms
• Perform deep‑dive root cause analysis (RCA) for complex, recurring, and business‑critical issues
• Design and optimize Elastic monitoring architecture including clusters, ILM, shards, and replicas
• Implement and tune ML/anomaly detection jobs for predictive alerting and noise reduction
• Lead ingestion architecture and optimization (Elastic Agent, Beats, Logstash pipelines)
• Define and standardize dashboards, SLOs, and service health models in Kibana
• Drive upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and cost optimization
• Integrate Elastic with ITSM, CMDB, CI/CD, and automation frameworks
• Define best practices, standards, and mentor L1/L2 engineers

Skills & Competencies

• Expert‑level Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Agent, Elastic APM)
• Advanced understanding of indexing strategies, shards, replicas, and ILM
• ML/anomaly detection, correlation, and AIOps‑driven monitoring
• Strong Unix/Linux and Windows administration
• Kubernetes, cloud, and SRE/observability best practices
• ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management expertise

Experience

• 6–10+ years of experience in Monitoring, Observability, or AIOps roles
• Proven experience supporting large‑scale Elastic enterprise deployments
