What You’ll Do
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment
- Set up, operate, and ensure proper function of surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, handling supplies, and maintaining counts
- Handle specimens, apply dressings, and assist with patient preparation and positioning
- Support post-operative room turnover, safety, and aseptic standards

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program (college, vocational school, hospital, or military)

0–2 years of experience required No experience necessary — new graduates welcome!

Additional experience may qualify for Intermediate or Senior Surgical Technologist roles

Experience may include a variety of surgical specialties (General, Ortho, Neuro, OB/GYN, Vascular, etc.)
Certification & Education

CST or TSC certification required per state law
-
New grads may work up to 6 months prior to certification but must become certified within 6 months of program completion

Some staff may be grandfathered and exempt from certification requirements

Continuing Education:
-
Certified staff must meet credentialing CE requirements
-
Non-certified staff must complete 30 CE hours every 2 years
Licensure & Clearances
-
CPR/BLS (AHA)required within30 days of hire

Act 34 Criminal Clearance (with renewal as required)
