Professional Staff Nurse, BSN (Interventional Radiology)

UPMC Passavant, a Magnet-designated hospital, is seeking a **Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse (BSN)**to join our **Interventional Radiology (IR)**team. Candidates with procedural, ICU, critical care, or sedation experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary and title are based on experience and education.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• On-call requirement: 14 days per 8-week schedule, including 2 weekends
• Additional schedule details discussed during the interview

About the Role

This position supports both Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery services. Nurses rotate between the IR procedure room and the hybrid OR for vascular surgery cases.

In this role, you will:

• Provide patient care before, during, and after procedures
• Administer moderate sedation
• Collaborate closely with interventional physicians and radiology technologists
• Monitor patients and respond to changes in condition
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures and recovery
• Ensure accurate documentation and high-quality patient care

Please note:

This role requires wearing lead protection during procedures and functioning confidently as the primary RN in procedural settings.

Qualifications

• BSN required
• 2+ years of experience preferred
• Prior procedural, ICU, critical care, PACU, ED, or sedation experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced procedural environment

Licensure & Certifications

Required:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
• BLS/CPR certification

Must obtain within 6 months of hire:

• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
