What to Expect

Please submit your CV in English in order to be considered for the role.

Tesla is accelerating the transition to sustainable energy with our industry-leading Residential Energy Products, including Powerwall, Wall Connector, Solar, and the full Residential Energy Ecosystem. These products are already deployed in over 40 countries, with fleets growing exponentially as more partners include them in their projects and installations.

The Residential Systems Diagnostics Team uses critical thinking and deep product knowledge to deliver best-in-class, engineer-level support for Tesla’s residential storage and home charging products. As an Associate Systems Diagnostics Engineer, you’ll troubleshoot medium-to-high complexity technical issues, support internal engineering and field teams, and go deep on proprietary power electronics and energy systems. You thrive on challenging edge cases, balance detailed problem-solving with big-picture thinking, and excel in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

This role is available in Amsterdam and Berlin.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and resolve technical cases from internal engineering, technical, and field service teams via ticketing, email, and live chat
  • Troubleshoot proprietary power electronics systems, metering, communications, and supporting components
  • Use CLI tools (Linux, SSH, SCP, VI) to connect to devices, pull logs, and edit configurations
  • Read and interpret single-line diagrams for PV, storage, load, and meter configurations
  • Handle VIP and corporate white-glove escalations with urgency and precision
  • Partner with engineering teams on root cause analysis (RCA) and emerging issue tracking (JIRA)
  • Document cases thoroughly and identify process or knowledge gaps to improve training and resources
  • Deliver internal and external upskilling/training sessions

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or 3+ years in a Technical Support Engineering role
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, AC/DC power systems, metering, energy flow, power factor, and phase rotation
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues involving multiple variables (metering, communications, distributed generation/storage preferred)
  • Proficiency with Linux command line (SSH, SCP, VI) and comfort learning proprietary systems quickly
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or AI tools is beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to explain complex technical topics clearly
  • Strong case management discipline: prioritization, detailed documentation, and follow-up
  • Experience with CRM tools and MS Office
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineering and cross-functional teams
  • Genuine curiosity for energy products and willingness to go deep on new technology
