Tesla is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning, and ramp of high-volume Optimus assembly lines. In this role you will collaborate with factory, safety, maintenance, and production teams to launch assembly lines to achieve target rate and yield. What You’ll Do

  • Plan and execute the installation and site commissioning of automated assembly lines under demanding timelines with efficient resource allocation
  • Drive improvements in process capability, cycle time, OEE to meet line targets
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on equipment safety per Tesla standard
  • Optimize cycle time with line balancing and process improvements during ramp
  • Analyze tradeoffs daily to deliver a reliable, high-uptime assembly line on schedule
  • Manage equipment suppliers and integrators through installation and commissioning phases
  • Collaborate with factory production teams to ramp output and resolve issues in real time
  • Root-cause technical issues and drive corrective actions for long term improvement
  • Create process specifications, validation reports and troubleshooting documentation

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years launching complex electro-mechanical products into high-volume production
  • Strong track record owning factory production lines and hitting rate targets
  • Experience working directly with production teams in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with site work, construction equipment, steel structures, material storage/buffer systems, material handling solutions, factory layout, and general factory material flow solutions
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with manual and automated assembly processes
  • Strong project leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Travel up to 35% to Tesla factories and automation vendors
