Utility Estimator, Tesla Energy
ポジションについて
What to Expect
As a Utility Estimator, you will serve as a key technical member of a pre-construction team. Your primary focus will be preparing and tracking detailed EPC cost estimates for complex turn-key battery energy storage, solar, and microgrid projects using Tesla technology. You'll also build and maintain internal tools and processes for the estimating team.
The Energy Projects team is a cross-functional group responsible for the engineering and execution of solar and storage projects. This includes development, design, analysis, project management, estimation, construction, and commissioning. Positioned centrally within business development, Tesla technology, and project deployment across the Americas, team members drive success across a wide range of applications.
This role requires a passion for transforming energy infrastructure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Expect a rock-solid work ethic, team orientation, creativity, and passion for innovation in a dynamic tech landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Create estimates and firm bids for utility-scale battery storage and PV projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontracting, permitting, interconnection, and ancillary costs
- Develop and maintain cost estimating tools and databases using historical data from previous projects, quotes, productivity reports, and value-engineering efforts
- Participate in design, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and post-mortem processes
- Support new product initiatives and mentor engineers to drive excellence and standardization
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Engineering, or equivalent in experience
- 2+ years' experience estimating power generation projects, emphasizing MV/HV substations (experience in utility-scale PV or battery storage preferred)
- Knowledge of procurement, cost trade-offs between equipment vendors, and construction or manufacturing sequences with time allocations
- Strong written and verbal communications, and ability to provide technical guidance
- Proficiency in MS Office, advanced Excel, CAD, and data analysis
- Experience in fast-paced organizations with ability to prioritize multiple projects or tasks
