Associate Product Developer - Product & Engineering, Shopee

Responsibilities

• Own product development from understanding user needs to delivering reliable solutions in production.
• Design simple, intuitive experiences for internal, non-technical users.
• Turn business requirements into practical, scalable product solutions.
• Ensure business-critical logic is accurate, reliable, and easy to maintain.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve product quality, performance, and user experience.
• Use AI and automation to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with other roles in the company, and other team members to ship valuable features.
• Communicate clearly, make thoughtful trade-offs, and work effectively in an asynchronous, small-team environment.

Requirements

• 1-3 Years of relevant experience in software engineering or product developer
• Bachelor's Degree in Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven ability to turn ideas into reliable, production-ready products.
• Good product and UI/UX sense, with a focus on simple and intuitive user experiences.
• Fast learner who embraces new tools, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a small team.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a hands-on mindset and a bias toward getting things done.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system design, databases, networking, and security.
• Experience building and operating reliable, scalable production systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, and modern deployment workflows.
• Experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into real-world products.
• Contributions to open-source projects, personal projects, or other work that demonstrates engineering craftsmanship.
