Job Description:

Business Development Consultant-Enterprise Software Bangalore

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Consultant to drive growth for Rockwell's Plex Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions. This role will focus on pipeline building, client engagement, and strategic business development in the Bangalore region, with opportunities to expand across India.

You will report to Manager, Enterprise Software Sales and follow a Hybrid working schedule in Bangalore

Your Responsibilities:

  • Pipeline Development:

Identify, qualify, and nurture new business opportunities for Rockwell Plex MES.

  • Client Engagement:

Build strong relationships with manufacturing leaders, IT decision-makers, and operations executives to understand their digital transformation needs.

  • Consultative Selling:

Position Plex MES as a solution for smart manufacturing, emphasizing ROI, scalability, and integration with Industry 4.0 initiatives.

  • Market Research:

Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer pain points to refine go-to-market strategies.

  • Collaboration:

Work closely with Rockwell's sales, marketing, and technical teams to align business development efforts with organizational goals.

  • Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of pipeline progress, forecasts, and customer interactions in CRM tools.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related field; MBA.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or consulting within manufacturing IT/OT solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of MES, ERP, or industrial automation platforms (experience with Rockwell Plex MES).
  • Proven track record in pipeline building and consultative sales.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Familiarity with manufacturing domains such as discrete, process, or hybrid manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to OT–IT integration, including ERP, SCADA, IoT, or analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of value-based or ROI-led selling for digital transformation initiatives.
  • Comfort working with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and interpreting sales pipeline metrics.
  • Experience collaborating with global or cross-functional teams.
  • Navigate long and complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
