About the Role:

The Post Submit Experience team builds the systems that keep customers informed and confident after they send a transfer: real-time notifications, transaction tracking, and support tooling that matter most in the moments when millions of people around the world feel most anxious about their money. Our systems power the post-transaction experience across all of Remitly's product lines, and we're focused on improving reliability, clarity, and customer trust at scale.

You Will

  • Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs using Java, or Go that power the post-transaction customer experience.

  • Own the reliability and performance of your services by monitoring production systems, responding to incidents, and implementing improvements.

  • Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage and participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.

  • Partner with PM, support operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to break down tasks, provide estimates, and discuss tradeoffs.

  • Write technical specifications and participate in design reviews.

  • Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

You Have

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience building production backend systems.

  • Strong programming skills in Java, Go, or similar languages, with a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.

  • Experience designing and building distributed systems using cloud platforms, particularly AWS services.

  • Understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, version control, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.

  • Experience in translating emerging AI capabilities into practical, high-impact solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to solve complex problems.

  • Clear and objective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Payments or Fintech experience is a bonus
