Meta seeks a driven commercial transactions lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can drive the execution of contracts to support the network infrastructure team in the U.S.
In this role, you will handle commercial negotiations and regulatory issues related to the development and operation of communications infrastructure that is critical to Meta’s services, business operations and AI aspirations. You will work closely with legal and cross-functional colleagues from various areas that include, tax, finance, engineering and other teams to ensure our contracts are well-calibrated across relevant areas of risk and are reflective of the company’s policies and risk tolerance. To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to manage competing priorities, have experience conducting legal research, analyzing regulatory issues, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and be an effective negotiator.
Lead Counsel, Infrastructure and Telecom Legal Responsibilities
Structure, draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements in support of the expansion of Meta’s network infrastructure, including joint build agreements and supply contracts for the construction of fiber-optic cable systems, dark fiber leases and IRUs, colocation, and cloud networking agreements
Research and analyze state and federal rules and regulations impacting Meta’s network infrastructure projects
Use AI tools to leverage your capabilities and enhance productivity
Collaborate with partner teams (e.g., Finance, Tax, Compliance) and external counsel to ensure contracts meet cross-functional org requirements while meeting business timing and commercial needs
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key clients and cross-functional partners
Provide well-calibrated, solid and practical business and legal advice

Minimum Qualifications:

6+ years of legal experience in telecommunications, network infrastructure, or technology transactions, at a law firm or in-house legal department
Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar association
A law degree and a practicing certificate (or equivalent) in a common law jurisdiction
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Strong research, analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills, along with excellent business judgment and strategic thinking
Diligent, well-organized and able to prioritize competing projects based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Experience in managing and coordinating with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions

United States of America: $170,000/year to $237,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
