About APM Terminals Laldia
APM Terminals is developing a greenfield, standalone container terminal in Laldia, Chattogram, Bangladesh, through a Joint Venture between APM Terminals BV and QNS Container Services Ltd.
The Role – Equipment Manager (STS & RTG Cranes)
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to lead Asset & Equipment Management for the Laldia terminal, with a strong focus on STS (Ship-to-Shore) and RTG (Rubber-Tyred Gantry) crane operations. The key role of the Equipment Manager will be to lead the fabrication and installation of the equipment (mainly STS and RTG, including other equipment as well). Equipment operation and maintenance will be in scope for the future terminal team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Drive and lead the fabrication and installation of the equipment package – tendering, delivery, commissioning and integration – as per contractual terms and conditions, in line with the project’s scope, timeline, quality, budget and objectives.
- Directly manage – through Crane Engineering Services (CES) in Shanghai, China – the main equipment supplies.
- Directly manage all other equipment and installation packages, not managed through CES.
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance plans are in place and are strictly followed. Together with the Quality Manager collect all relevant documents and ensure those are included in the close out documentation
- Closely work and regularly align with the equipment standards of APM Terminals and M&R functions and tap into APM Terminals’ corporate knowledge and experience.
- Propose improvements regarding the technical set-up of the equipment and installation systems, based on:
- APMT’s requirements, and
- the approved project business case baseline.
- Manage all changes to the E&I scope, schedule and budget.
Further Responsibilities:
General
- Act as primary project point of contact on-site towards CES, contractors and suppliers.
- Manage the equipment deliveries, supervise on-site works and control progress in a transparent manner (fabrication and delivery are the contractors’ and suppliers’ responsibilities).
- Together with the Construction Manager, influence decision making processes on the E&I aspects of the project and cross-functionally advise the Interface, Civil and IT Managers.
- Maintain awareness of E&I requirements, risks and changes. Report progress and liaise with terminal and project teams.
- Ensure that commissioning, safety and compliance are addressed early in the project.
- Support the Contracts Manager with the administration of the E&I contracts.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification.Why This Role
