
Staff Data Engineer - Quickbooks Capital and Lending
About the role
Come join the Quick Books Capital and Lending Platform as a Staff Software Engineer in Data. You will join an innovative and passionate team of engineers using cutting edge technologies like Python, Py Spark, Spark, SQL, Data Bricks, Big Data fundamentals, AWS, Elastic Search, Kafka, to build enterprise scale data engineering pipelines and features for our Quick Books Capital customers. We are looking for an engineer with a background in data engineering and experience working in a data engineering team for 7+ years.
Responsibilities

Understand functional requirements, develop technical designs and specifications, code and test.

You will be required to size work of medium to large complexity and manage timelines and deliveries.

Designing/developing software using data engineering technologies.

You will be spending 90% hands-on designing, coding, testing and supporting production systems (on-call).

Resolve defects/bugs during testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.

Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: product management, other engineering teams and business units to drive forward results.

Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies.

Data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.

Production support via quarterly on-call rotations to monitor production systems and resolve production errors & incidents
Qualifications
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years’ experience developing data engineering pipeline using technologies like Python, Py Spark, Spark, SQL, Data Bricks, AWS, Elastic Search, Kafka
- 7+ year’s experience working on Big Data technologies.
- Extensive experience with Python and Spark
- Proven ability to understand a large existing codebase.
- Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrated experience building and supporting large scale enterprise data engineering pipelines and featurization
