Job Summary

The Cloud Operations Center Engineer (Mid‑Level) is responsible for stable, secure, and efficient operations of Wacker’s cloud platforms across a multi‑cloud environment.\r\n The role focuses on L2/L3 operational support, platform reliability, automation enablement, and continuous optimization, ensuring cloud services meet SLA, security, and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Operations & Service Stability\r\n\r\n Operate and support cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Azure China/21Vianet, Oracle OCI – as applicable to Wacker scope).\r\n Ensure availability, performance, and reliability of cloud services through proactive monitoring and operational controls.\r\n Support BAU cloud operations aligned with agreed SLAs and governance standards.\r\n\r\n Incident, Problem & Change Management\r\n\r\n Handle L2/L3 cloud incidents and service requests, including troubleshooting of compute, storage, networking, and platform services.\r\n Participate in major incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.\r\n Execute and support cloud change activities (patching, configuration changes, upgrades) following approved change processes.\r\n\r\n Automation & Operational Efficiency\r\n\r\n Support and enhance infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or native cloud automation services.\r\n Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization.\r\n Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to align operational practices.\r\n\r\n Security, Governance & Compliance\r\n\r\n Ensure cloud operations adhere to Wacker security, compliance, and governance policies.\r\n Support access management, logging, monitoring, and audit requirements for cloud services.\r\n Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and evidence for audits and reviews.\r\n\r\n Collaboration & Continuous Improvement\r\n\r\n Work closely with application teams, database teams, network, security, and ITSM functions to resolve cross‑tower issues.\r\n Contribute to cloud service optimization, cost awareness, and capacity planning discussions.\r\n Mentor junior cloud engineers and support knowledge transfer within the GCC.

Skill Requirements

5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure operations or platform support roles.\r\n Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle OCI (multi‑cloud exposure preferred).\r\n Solid understanding of cloud networking, security basics, monitoring, and cost management.\r\n Experience with automation / IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, etc.).\r\n Familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM tools (e.g., Service Now).\r\n Ability to operate in on‑call or shift‑based models if required.
