Sr. Technical Specialist

Job Overview:

• The candidate has to work as an individual contributor.
• The candidate is accountable to perform integration of new trading partners, work on new interfaces, setup messages to/from GM SAP systems.
• Individual should be able to convert functional requirement into technical specification & implement solutions and guide junior team members to implement the solutions in hand.
• The individual should have strong knowledge of EDIFACT, IDOC & SAP commercial operations.
• The Individual should be able to define and implement integrated Process like P2P, material management, supply chain & logistics , O2C business transactions etc. Job Responsibilities 55 % of Time
• Provide solutions to Remedy Log’s that come on a daily basis.
• Daily Monitor SM37 for any JOB failures in International systems
• Provide expertise to ad-hoc request
• Help to build maps & writing good spacs
• Provide support on other moving projects. 30 % of Time
• Play active role with business in automation of various business process
• Understand requirement from business and translate in technical spec
• Help mapper to write correct map
• Troubleshoot daily issues raised by business to ensure that business processes dependent on EDI remain up and running 15 % of Time
• Guide team members & provide help to cross team members
• Guide team members by providing valuable inputs & also by making them understand the need of change
• Act as a subject matter expert to solve critical issue & document the same
• Work on innovation and automation to reduce mundane work
• Work on better implementation plan on critical tools
• Work with other teams to improve service provided to them Desired Profile Education Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters Preferred Major Area of Study: Computers Experience Minimum years of related experience required: 5 years Preferred years of related experience: 5 years Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed Mandatory:
• In depth understanding of at least one major EDI standard (e.g. EDIFACT, X12, TRADACOM).
• Working knowledge of at least one major value-added network (e.g. GXS) and one other message exchange protocol (e.g. AS2, ftp).
• Programming / development experience on an EDI translator (e.g. web Methods or similar) that demonstrates candidate can work either as analyst or developer.
• Can analyze, document and develop a current or future business process. This should include identifying gaps to be resolved, preparing mapping specifications for developers and documenting a unit / system / regression test plan.
• Resolves re-occurring or critical issues through root-cause analysis and proposing solutions.
• Capable of building a work plan for their own project or as part of a larger cross functional project. Desirable:
• Working knowledge of an order to cash or procurement to pay business processes for a CPG manufacturer.
• Functional knowledge of EDI integration with SAP modules SD, MM, FI.
• SAP ABAP programming knowledge related to idoc and/or functional modules enhancement.
• Understands fundamentals of project management such as cost/benefit analysis, estimating and scope creep. Competencies/Behaviors required for job Mandatory:
