This is the Global Shared Services arm of General Mills Inc., which supports its operations worldwide. Job Overview: A sound professional with supply chain expertise, mathematical skills, ability to manage data, who can analyze and develop solutions for inbound supply chain with the goal of improving the efficiency and effectiveness in this area. The incumbent is expected to work in the capacity of an individual contributor in a challenging business environment. This virtual team caters to 30+ plants and several business teams / groups in the US. Responsibilities: % 80 of Time Work collaboratively with stakeholders & plants located in the US Identify gaps / challenges in the inbound supply chain and develop solutions to plug the gaps & mitigate service risk on raw materials thereby improving efficiency & effectiveness of the network Work closely with small and mid-size plants (plants with material codes ranging from 300 to 1500, multiple RM replenishment strategies, Manageable RM supply risk, Moderate write off risk and working capital, Moderate space constraints and manageable operational challenges) Work on analytics to set up optimal Order parameters for raw materials to ensure efficient and effective Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Monitor the health of inbound supply chain at a location and facilitate / co-ordinate with different groups / teams to provide comprehensive solutions that would enable smooth flow of raw materials in the inbound supply chain and ensure their availability at the plants Identify root cause of issues surfacing in the inbound supply chain & develop solutions to mitigate supply risk Share insights / first level analytics for material supply escalations at the given location / plant Discuss / prioritize chronic issues with locations – Vendor, Transportation, Sourcing, Escalations, Material set up, Planning etc. Planning parameters health check Share progress on resolution of issues with the locations Develop / review inventory recommendations and targets for small and mid-size plants Work with business teams and low to moderately complex material category to provide analytical insights for inbound supply chain Design / develop holistic inbound networks to reduce risk, reduce material cost, optimize loads and improve plant’s agility Develop optimal replenishment and inventory strategies for raw materials: Execute Material Forecast Alignment (MFA) process Deliver optimal raw material forecasts to enable category procurement strategies Supply chain risk assessment Work out cost of various strategies to facilitate improved decision making Support Subject Matter Expert / team to identify opportunities & develop solutions to bring efficiencies to the process % 10 of Time: Continue Professional Career Development Participate in formal Logistics training Participate in Supply Chain Competencies Training Develop Goals and Objectives for the Fiscal Year % 10 of Time: Organizational Effectiveness Polish / refine soft skills: Written & Verbal communication, Presentation & Interpersonal Participate in knowledge sharing sessions Support any team initiatives provided by Business / Managers Identify collaboration opportunities within the sub team Attend recommended / required training programs Education Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters Preferred Major Area of Study:Operations / Supply Chain Required Professional Certifications:Good to have Preferred Professional Certifications:CPIM/CSCP Experience Minimum years of related experience required:2+ Preferred years of related experience:2+ Shift: 1.30 pm - 10.30 pm COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
