The Global Trade Import Compliance Lead is responsible for import/export regulatory compliance, oversight of govt programs and documentation requirements needed to support E2E global Supply Chain flow of goods. This also includes building internal compliance documentation, training resources, provide import/export compliance support to operations teams and support on trade consultancy projects.
- Consulting support to plant/market logistics teams in managing import operations
- Ensure Import Trade flows are set up and operations are compliant (pre-shipment review)
- Importer - entity management (review and set-up), Key Customs Contact for any import border inquiries
- Support Marketing, Sales, ITQ, R&D and other teams as required to ensure import/export compliance.
- Responsible for Post Shipment audit of import filings including developing and managing critical key performance indicators to ensure the success of import/export compliance
- Conducts annual Trade Compliance audits, lead implementation of necessary corrective actions and keeps leadership informed
- Provide expertise on all customer and country required documentation.
- Accountable to ensure trade compliance excellence in the following import/export operational areas: customs entry filing process, classification, denied party screening, controls, embargos/sanctions, and recordkeeping.
- Executes and determines product eligibility for multiple trade agreements to maximize duty avoidance as a Global Role/Responsibility. This includes Customs Classification, Solicitation, Qualification and Certification of materials under various programs.
- Manage relationships with Customs brokers on overall compliance and
- Develop & maintain EU Free Trade Agreement and Country of Origin policies, standards and procedures in partnership with executional teams
- Implement FTA/COO Data & Process Governance for the Region
- Identify & implement Free Trade Agreement opportunities Required Skills
- 3-5 years’ experience in import/export regulatory compliance or similar function for a global organization required.
- Fluency in English with the ability to work in a multi-lingual environment
- Experience with Import/Export regulations and/or operational process.
- Process development, standardization, change mgmt. and execution skills.
- Understanding and leveraging of Continuous Improvement tools..
- Proficiency with Processes and Systems.
- Ability to understand impact to upstream and downstream Global Trade & FSQ processes.
Desired Skills:
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business or related fields
- Working language ability in Spanish, French or Greek preferred
- Knowledge of Import/Export practices and ocean/land cross border transportation movements.
- Experience with Systems (SAP, Interspec, GPLM, EClips/GClips &Trade Automation)
- Ability to influence change, strong project and change management skills.
