Overview We are seeking a full-time Systems Test Engineer 2 at Garmin’s U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems by providing system testing support for moderately complex integrated flight deck programs and/or retrofit product lines.
Essential Functions Provides system testing support for developmental requirements of OEM programs Communicates status and schedule for the system testing needs applicable to planned deliveries Provides feedback to development teams to ensure solutions are designed to meet system testing needs Provides troubleshooting support to identify the system root cause Provides clear and sufficient detail about issues observed with details sufficient for internal or external customers Identifies and implements improvements to system testing processes and tools Identifies improvements and modifies tools for use in system testing Supports troubleshooting of issues reported by simulation companies and provides clear communication for internal and external customers Develops improvements to data packages delivered to simulator companies Anticipates and creates solutions for simulator company qualification needs Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or another related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrates knowledge of several complex integrated avionic functions Demonstrates mastery of relevant tools for use in system testing Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills Demonstrates knowledge of requirements for simulator qualification Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others Desired Qualifications Previous work or internship experience with Garmin related products Pilot's License Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
