Team: Customer Experience (CX)

Our CX team transforms the end-to-end shopping journey. We identify customer pain points, build solutions, and continuously improve the funnel—from sign-up to search to checkout. Every feature we design starts with the customer and ends with measurable impact.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead AI Design Strategist to elevate our design capabilities through the strategic integration of Artificial Intelligence. This isn’t just about using AI tools; it’s about fundamentally transforming how we approach design—from initial concept to final execution—while consistently delivering exceptional and impactful e-commerce customer experiences. You will be a critical leader in shaping our design future, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of AI-driven design excellence within our team.

You’ll sit at the center of AI innovation, working side-by-side with AI Product Managers and Engineers in a strategic hub—likely Seoul or China—where we’re assembling our AI talent.

What You Will Do

• Drive AI Design: Lead high-impact AI design projects that elevate customer experience.

• Integrate AI: Define and execute a strategy to embed AI into design workflows, tools, and processes.

• Inspire & Mentor: Champion AI in design, guiding and upskilling product designers.

• Experiment Boldly: Explore generative AI, ML, and predictive analytics to push creative boundaries.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product, engineering, and data science to ship AI-powered solutions.

• Leverage Insights: Use AI-driven analytics to unlock deep customer behavior insights.

• Measure Impact: Set clear metrics to evaluate design effectiveness with AI.

Who You Are:

• Strategic thinker with proven experience leading design in tech or AI-focused products.

• Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Confident communicator who can influence and align C-level stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, CS, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Exceptional communication skills in English.

• Willingness to work from a Coupang AI hub (Seoul or China).
