Business Intelligence Developer at Continental
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer with a strong background in Power BI, AI-enabled analytics, and end-to-end BI solution ownership.
The role focuses on designing, delivering, and operating complex, business-critical BI applications, while shaping the BI strategy, governance, and roadmap across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to drive results through collaboration and delegation. Experience with AI-powered capabilities such as Copilot in Power BI is essential.
BI Solution Design & Delivery:
- Gather, analyze, and challenge complex business requirements across multiple stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and implementation designs.
- Own the end-to-end delivery (execute, collaborate, delegate) of complex BI applications using Power BI, including:
- Semantic model design
- Advanced DAX
- Optimized data models
- Performance tuning
- Develop AI-augmented dashboards and insights leveraging Copilot in Power BI and other AI capabilities.
Project & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead BI initiatives as part of cross-functional, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage design, build, and rollout activities for complex BI solutions.
- Act as a trusted BI partner for business, IT, and data stakeholders.
Operations, Support & Continuous Improvement
- Own (execute, collaborate, delegate) operational support, incident resolution, and change implementation for complex BI applications.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of BI solutions in production.
- Drive continuous improvement based on usage analytics, feedback, and business value realization.
BI Strategy, Governance & Quality
- Identify and own initiatives that drive the BI strategy and roadmap, including:
- Advanced analytics
- AI-driven insights
- Standardization and scalability
- Identify and own initiatives that ensure and improve BI governance, covering:
- Data quality
- Semantic consistency
- Security and access models
- Lifecycle and documentation standards
Knowledge Sharing & Community Building:
- Take ownership for knowledge exchange across Conti Tech (best practices, reusable patterns, templates).
- Coach and mentor other BI developers and analysts.
- Actively promote BI services, standards, and guidelines to major stakeholders across the organization.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Visualization.
- Proven experience delivering complex Power BI solutions in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Power BI (Service & Desktop)
- Data modeling (star schema, performance optimization)
- DAX (advanced calculations, time intelligence)
- Solid understanding of end-to-end BI architectures, including:
- Data sources (ERP, cloud platforms, data lakes/ lakehouses)
- Semantic layers
- Security, governance, and lifecycle management
- Demonstrated experience working with AI-enabled BI capabilities, preferably Copilot in Power BI.
- Experience leading or contributing to projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Very good English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
Technical Skills:
- Power BI: Advanced dashboards, reports, semantic models, and performance tuning
- AI-enabled analytics: Copilot in Power BI, automated insights, natural language querying
- Data modeling & analytics best practices
- SQL (strong), experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure, Databricks) is a plus
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance concepts

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured BI solutions
- Project execution mindset with the ability to own outcomes
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Capability to execute, collaborate, and delegate effectively
