RN Program Coordinator III - Spine and Orthopedics

As an RN Program Coordinator III, a caregiver in this role will provide education and support to surgical patients before and after their procedures, helping them understand pre-operative instructions, post-operative care, pain management, mobility expectations and recovery plans. This role supports orthopedic, spine, bariatric, colorectal and general medical-surgical patients while collaborating closely with physicians, physical and occupational therapists and case managers to promote safe recovery and successful discharge. The caregiver will also monitor post-operative progress, promote patient comfort, reinforce clinical protocols and educate staff on post-surgical care standards to support consistent, high-quality care.

A caregiver in this position works 8: 00am to 4:30pm with no weekends, holidays or on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Work with LVAD patients and help evaluate them in conjunction with other disciplines.

• Assist with outpatient visits and equipment management.

• Room patients, collect vital signs and dress wounds.

• Answer phone calls.

• Provide discharge education and instructions.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

• Five years of clinical RN experience.

• Knowledge of healthcare systems.

• Skills: interpersonal, communication and organization

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires frequent standing and walking.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Works under stressful conditions and requires irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Light Work
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
• Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $57,510.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $87,697.50
