Experience of an AI Engineer:

AI Engineers are able to articulate clear business objectives and translate them into AIdriven architectures and implementations. They work in an iterative, agile manner and take full ownership of their solutions—from problem framing and model selection to deployment and monitoring.

They provide counsel and technical guidance on complex AI and engineering challenges, often coordinating across teams and organizations. The role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to evaluate tradeoffs across different AI approaches, and a deep understanding of prompt design, context management, and agent orchestration.

AI Engineers are expected to influence the broader organization through thought leadership, helping teams adopt modern AI patterns while ensuring scalability, reliability, and ethical use of AI technologies. We aim to be cuttingedge engineers—not experimental hobbyists, and not institutionalized developers.

Key Characteristics:

• Minimize “meetings” to get requirements; prefer direct interaction with business and product partners

• Design and develop AIpowered solutions, including AI Agents and agentbased workflows

• Strong understanding of prompt engineering and context engineering for large language models

• Ability to evaluate different AI / foundation models and apply the appropriate model for the problem context

• Solid foundational understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised, unsupervised, evaluation metrics, bias awareness)

• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to reason through ambiguous problem spaces

• Build and integrate AI solutions into enterprisegrade systems and workflows

• Ensure quality, reliability, and responsible AI usage, including monitoring and guardrails

• Be part of an agile team, leveraging modern tools and opensource technologies

• Demonstrate a passion for learning and staying current with rapidly evolving AI technologies

• Be entrepreneurial and businessminded; take calculated risks and champion new ideas

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of overall engineering experience

• At least 2 years of handson, relevant experience building AIbased solutions, including AI Agents

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience

• Strong experience with prompt engineering, context management, and agent orchestration patterns

• Working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and applied AI concepts

• Experience evaluating and using multiple AI / foundation models effectively

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and deliver complex solutions on time

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

• Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments (healthcare experience is a plus)

• Knowledge of responsible AI principles and production AI considerations is a plus
