Merchant financing Product Manager - Global Payment

The Global Payment team of Byte Dance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on Byte Dance platforms including Tik Tok.

We are looking for a highly professional, self-driven, and data-driven Merchant Financing Product Manager to design, launch, and scale financing products that support the growth of merchants across our platform. You will work at the intersection of product, risk, data, operations, and business teams to deliver tailored credit solutions, such as Cash Advance, Term Loan, and Invoice Financing. Your goal is to enhance merchant liquidity, drive user adoption, and ensure sustainable portfolio performance.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the roadmap for seller financing products (e.g., Cash Advance, Term Loan, Line of Credit) across multiple markets.
• Build a scalable, modular product architecture supporting embedded credit journeys within our ecosystem.
• Translate business objectives into detailed product requirements and success metrics.
• Lead design and implementation of credit onboarding, KYC, disbursement, and repayment flows within the e-commerce ecosystem.
• Partner with Data Science and Risk teams to design credit decisioning models and monitoring frameworks.
• Work closely with Engineering, Design, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality, compliant lending experiences.
• Identify merchant pain points and design financing solutions to increase seller liquidity and retention.
• Monitor funnel metrics (eligibility, approval, drawdown, repayment) and continuously improve completion rate and credit utilization.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Relevant experience as Product Manager in fintech, lending, e-commerce, banking, or credit risk—especially in SME or merchant financing.
• Solid understanding of credit product mechanics, risk management, and financial modelling.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and fast-paced, agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years and above relevant experience in merchant financing space.
• Knowledge of SEA or LATAM financing/lending regulatory landscapes.
