Fitter/Welder Assembly Trainee at Bosch
About the role
- Must be able to work safely in a production environment.
- Assemble all phases of power unit construction using a bill of material, arrangement drawing and schematic. (Use of hand tools such as tape measure, pneumatic tools and metal cutting equipment required.)
- Fit and weld pipe joints and structural assemblies per established welding codes using various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
- Work independently with minimal supervision according to standard shop guidelines.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Will work in an industrial environment in and around large machinery.
- Proper safety equipment is provided and must be worn at all times.
- Overtime may be requested.
- Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
- High school graduate from an accredited institution or equivalent (GED) with vocational/technical training in welding field/trade.
- Candidates with one to two years prior welding experience and some mechanical background preferred.
- Prior pipe welding experience is preferred.
- Experience reading drawings and schematics is preferred.
- Willingness to develop and refine proper welding techniques.
- Openness to pursuing certification in crane, scissor/forklift operation.
- Readiness to complete welder qualification testing.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated capacity to listen carefully, follow directions, and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
- Able to travel up to 20% as needed.
