YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff – Engineering Sys Cert Office, you will work with a skilled team to plan and drive execution of projects and feature development, following well-defined Agile processes. You will work cross-functionally with Architects, Technologists, Product Managers, remote development teams, and customer-facing teams to deliver capabilities across Wind River’s Vx Works and Helix Virtualization Platform products.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality, safety-critical software capabilities with excellent user experience.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
In your day-to-day job you will:
- Design and maintain processes for the development of certified and safety-critical software
- Ensure compliance with automotive, industrial, and aerospace standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE, IEC 61508, DO-178C)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements
- Provide support to teams during project execution
- Train and mentor project teams in safety-critical lifecycle activities
- Support the evaluation and selection of appropriate tools, processes, and technologies
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the assigned process areas
- Participate in the process definition reviews
- Support SQA team in the process quality assurance activities
- Work with global teams as needed to achieve project objectives
- ASPICE and Functional Safety Process compliance
- Coach and mentor junior team members
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in business or safety process definition

Product or process development experience in automotive, aerospace, Industrial or medical industries

Expertise in at least two of the following: ASPICE, CMMI, Functional Safety, ISO 26262, IEC 61508 or DO-178C

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Excellent presentation skills

Experience with lifecycle management tools such as Polarion, Jama or DOORS

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent time management and multitasking abilities

Experience with safety, process or quality audits

Experience working with certification organizations
It will be great if you also have:
- Knowledge and experience with software development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, JIRA
- Software engineering experience with the full development lifecycle and processes, Agile and scrum project management tools (e.g. Jira);
- Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM, CSPO) are a plus
- Familiarity with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and RTOS development tools
This role is compensation range is between $155,000 to $175,000 CAD annual plus annual incentive plan bonus. Compensation is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, vacation time, eligibility to enroll in RRSP, and paid holidays.
