Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate, innovative and have a heart for Nourishing People and the Planet. You will be working on designing and developing long term, scalable and high-impact programs within the Worldwide Grocery Stores Tech (WWGST) organization.

Our team spearheads consumer services for omni-channel marketing and in-store retail applications. We're at the forefront of tackling the most complex and challenging projects in the retail grocery sector, delivering technical solutions that revolutionize the industry.

Our mission is to transform the in-store shopping experience through innovative printed and digital marketing initiatives, leveraging state-of-the-art retail applications. We're committed to launching, accelerating, and optimizing these technologies to create a truly differentiated customer journey.

We're seeking dynamic, entrepreneurial individuals who excel in problem-solving and thrive in high-pressure environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a team with numerous greenfield projects, allowing you to shape the future of retail technology from the ground up.

You will design, develop, and deploy reliable distributed solutions at Amazon scale, working with core technologies including Java, Linux, and AWS services. Collaboration with teams across Amazon and Whole Foods Market will be essential as you help redefine the industry. The ideal candidate excels in ambiguous environments, builds high-risk components first, and maintains focus on architectural goals while delivering incremental launches. You should create scalable, robust, and elegant solutions, valuing simplicity in solving complex problems.

Your analytical approach should be data-driven, with a deep understanding of customer needs and a passion for innovating on their behalf. You will participate in setting development team quality standards while maintaining a big-picture perspective. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
