Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.
Product Design at Affirm drives business success by exceeding user’s expectations. We are guided by core experience principles:
Anything, Everywhere:We quickly and reliably enable our customers to transact, anywhere they need it. We empower them to shop and pay how and when they want.
Intelligently Anticipate:We simplify customers’ decision-making by showing them where to go.
Refreshingly Honest:We build trust and always do the right thing. It’s on us to deliver honesty and simplicity in our experiences.
Brief, Personal, and Brilliant:Our customer’s experience gets better as they use Affirm, and we can provide exceptional value.
Reaffirm:Recognize, celebrate, and create joy so that customers consistently choose Affirm again and again.
We are a collaborative, remote-first team that is driven, highly skilled, and humble. We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our team to drive the quality, adoption, and scalability of our visual language across our consumer and merchant products.
The Design Systems team is a small group of systems thinkers and connectors focused on the cohesive strategy of building, scaling, maturing, and improving our Design System.
What You’ll Do System Evolution:
Take ownership of core component libraries. You will drive the design, specification, and maintenance of complex UI components, ensuring they meet the highest standards of craft and usability.
Visual Quality & Craft: Lead by example in visual refinement. You will ensure that every component—from buttons to complex data tables—is polished, accessible, and aligned with our brand identity.
Technical Partnership: Work closely with engineering partners to translate design intent into code. You will help define component APIs and ensure the "coded" reality matches the "designed" vision.
Documentation & Guidance: Create clear, actionable documentation. You will make it easy for product teams to adopt the system by writing comprehensive usage guidelines and "do’s and don’ts."
Adoption Support: Act as a dedicated partner to product squads. You will help unblock other designers, review their usage of the system, and gather feedback to improve our tools.
Token Management: Help manage and expand our design token architecture, ensuring consistent application of color, typography, and spacing across platforms (Web, iOS, Android).
Accessibility: Audit and improve components for accessibility (WCAG), ensuring our system enables inclusive experiences by default.
What We Look For Systems Expertise & Craft Figma Mastery:
You are an expert in modern Figma workflows (Auto-layout, Components, Variants, Properties). You know how to build libraries that are easy for others to use.
Pattern Definition: You can look at a messy set of inconsistencies and synthesize them into a clean, reusable pattern.
Technical Literacy: You have a strong grasp of how designs are implemented in code (HTML/CSS/React/Mobile) and can communicate effectively with developers about constraints and trade-offs.
Visual Excellence: Strong visual design skills with an eye for typography, layout, and hierarchy. You care about the details.
Leadership & Collaboration Experience: 6+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing Design Systems work.
Communication: You can clearly articulate the "why" behind your design decisions to stakeholders and engineers.
Proactive Mindset: You identify gaps in the system and propose solutions without waiting to be asked.
Mentorship: You enjoy helping other designers improve their craft and understanding of systems thinking.
Adaptability: You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift, and you can balance "perfect" system design with the immediate needs of the business.
Nice to Haves

Do you affirm for only one topic until it manifests? Please help me out.
Okay I have a doubt and I wanted to know how you guys actually do this in practice. I know about the list method where you write everything down and then just assume you already have it. But what if there are a couple of things that are really important to you and you feel like actively affirming for them? Like for example, one is an SP situation and the other is a job interview where I really want to do well and get the offer. Both matter a lot to me. So how do you structure it? Do you guys
