Position Overview

Reports to: Group Manager O&G, CH&R

Work model: Hybrid / Flexible

This role is contributing to the work in Functional Safety related areas under ABB PAEN business area, generally in Oil & Gas with Chemicals & Pharma industries (but not limited to) being mainly assigned to highly interesting and technologically advanced Projects within European locations and beyond.

Main stakeholders: Team Leader with Team Coordinator on the Line Management basis and Project Manager with Project Lead Engineer on the Project basis.

Responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Performing survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks
  • Exercising judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods and preparing project documentation within your scope of deliverables
  • Assisting customers on technical issues and interacting with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within your scope of deliverables
  • Supporting in communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings
  • Participating in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes

About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design.

Qualifications

  • Electrical education (secondary grade is minimum)
  • Advanced knowledge of English (any other international language is considered as advantage)
  • IEC61508, IEC61511, Machinery Safety knowledge (is considered as advantage)
  • Experience in automation appreciated
  • Willingness to travel abroad
