Position Overview

Reports to: Principal Designer

Work Model: Onsite

Location: China

This role contributes to the Distribution Solutions division and focuses on mechanical design for projects.

About Distribution Solutions

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening the resilience of the grid. The Division offers segment-specific products and solutions that largely serve utilities, industry and infrastructure segments, often providing the requisite medium-voltage link between high-voltage transmission systems and low-voltage users. With ABB Ability™ enabled connected solutions at its core, the offering includes medium-voltage air- and gas-insulated switchgear (1 to 66 kilovolts), indoor and outdoor circuit breakers, reclosers, fuses, contactors, relays, instrument transformers, sensors, motor control centers, as well as low-voltage switchgear for the ANSI standard markets.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for mechanical design of projects and confirm solutions
• Support sales in signing technical specifications
• Solve technical problems in the manufacturing process
• Provide technical support for customers and internal related departments
• Support R&D of new products

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical design or related professional field
• More than 2 years working experience in switchgear
• Strong knowledge of power product knowledge and relevant standards
• Very good 3D (Solid Works) and CAD skills
• Proficiency with office software
• Good English language ability
• Good communication skills
