This position reports to:

Supervisor (Production)

Team Leaders are responsible for the flow of material, people and information in a particular work area. Ensuring operators have the necessary tools, equipment and support necessary to perform job operations. The team will follow standardized work procedures utilizing lean manufacturing principles. The team leaders will communicate pertinent information with the supervisor, the oncoming shift, and other departments daily.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Safety

  • Understands and follows plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing.
  • Wears required protective equipment.
  • Dresses and conducts self in a safe manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S.
  • Participates in plant safety objectives.

Job Functions

  • Will be actively involved in all aspects of manufacturing.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement aspects of the plant.
  • Work Order/Kanban Management
  • Inventory Management
  • DMR, Re-work, excess control, material handling, etc)
  • Production Transactions
  • Area Issue Management
  • Scrap, tools, equipment, work orders, machine work orders, tool management, equipment relief, etc.
  • Pass-Down Communications Daily
  • OEE – performance/quality availability
  • Standard Work Audit
  • Develop improvements in the areas of cost, quality, process, safety, scrap reduction and service to internal and external customers.
  • Makes suggestions to eliminate waste and continually improve processes.
  • Can be relied upon to be on the job when needed and perform work to its successful completion.
  • Must interact, communicate, and work effectively with all plant employees and visitors.
  • Good communication skills & Interpersonal skills, working independently or with the team.
  • Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 6 months’ related experience preferred and/or training.
  • Previous experience in physically demanding work in a factory environment preferred.
  • Can work overtime to meet Business Objectives
  • Can work a weekend schedule as needed.

Skills and/or Training

  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand various written instructions in English
  • Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner
  • Lift up to 40 Pounds
  • Stand for long periods
  • Good hand dexterity
  • Strong math skills
