This position reports to: Department Manager PLC Programmer

We are looking for candidates for the position of PLC Programmer at the ABB Operational Center Europe, with branches in Ostrava, Plzeň, and Brno.

In this role, you will work on industrial automation projects in areas such as:

• Energy, including green energy
• Marine transportation
• Mining and mineral processing
• Pharmaceuticals and chemicals

Examples of Real Projects

• Jansz-Io project – natural gas extraction using unique subsea power station technology enabling a lower carbon footprint
• Northvolt project – battery production with an 80% lower carbon footprint compared to fossil fuel-based manufacturing
• Wonder of the Seas project – complete automation for the world's largest cruise ship

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the Process Automation in Ostrava, Plzeň or Brno.

Responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Programming control applications based on functional specifications
• Function testing internally and with customers
• Commissioning equipment at customer sites
• Documenting project progress and creating technical documentation

Qualifications

• At least a high school education in electrical engineering
• Experience in automation and PLC programming (we provide training for graduates)
• English at a communicative level (collaboration with international customers and teams)
• Willingness to travel – business trips within Europe
• Independence and motivation to work in an international team
